Paddel pair of chairs by Jean Gillon for Probel, in leather and wood

Beautiful and comfortable chairs in great condition with hardly any wear. We have a matching sofa (3 seater) available also. Gillon's work is characterized by a brutalistic touch with rough joints and wooden slabs (in this case bolts holding together the chairs) in stark contrast to the materials used. Hornbeam (beech) is a rare wood, it is very dense and heavy but with lesser wood-grain. These chairs from the 1960's are still in mint condition with hardly any use, the cushions are strong and sturdy, the leather shows hardly any wear
