Jean Gillon Paddle Sofa, 1960
Leather 3 Seater for Probel Brazil
Paddel sofa by Jean Gillon for Probel, in leather and wood
Beautiful and comfortable sofa in great condition with hardly any wear. We have a pair of chairs available also. Gillon's work is characterized by a brutalistic touch with rough joints and wooden slabs (in this case bolts holding together the sofa) in stark contrast to the materials used. Hornbeam (beech) is a rare wood, it is very dense and heavy but with lesser wood-grain. This sofa from the 1960's is still in mint condition with hardly any use, the cushions are strong and sturdy, the leather shows hardly any wear
