Temde 'Mandarin' Chandelier Orbit Disco By E.R. Nele, 1973 Switzerland
A rare chandelier designed Eva Reneé Nele that captures the orbitual ball-chandelier in a rather fascinating, ephemeral way. The Temde ‘Mandarin’ Chandelier (also known as the Orbit Disco), designed by the German sculptor and designer E.R. Nele (Eva Renée Nele Bode) in 1973 for the Swiss-German manufacturer Temde-Leuchten, stands as a hypnotic masterpiece of Space Age lighting design. Moving far beyond the era's typical futuristic pop-art aesthetic, the chandelier plays with geometry to create a captivating, maze-like infinity quality. By blending the playful energy of the 1970s disco era with intricate, sculptural complexity, Nele's 'Mandarin' turns light into a boundless architectural maze.
The condition is good considering age and use. It has got 18 e14 sockets for bulbs with a max wattage of 40W. The spiral elongation cable works but shows some wear, we can replace it with a permanent cable if that is desired.
