Vinicio Vianello Chandelier, 1957
Chandelier for Vistosi, Venetian Glass, Italy
A rare chandelier designed by Vinicio Vianello for Vistosi, Italy, 1957.
This sculptural chandelier exemplifies Vianello’s refined approach to mid-century lighting, where Venetian glassmaking traditions converge with a distinctly architectural sensibility. Each glass shade is intricately constructed and is basically modular, so you can plug multiple of these together. The polygonal blown-glass element have a delicate light green tone, its faceted geometry gently modulating the light and enhancing the material’s inherent luminosity. The glass bodies are secured between precisely articulated, nickeled metal brackets whose linear rigor provides a measured counterpoint to the organic vitality of the blown forms. Preserved in good original vintage condition, no major flaws, damages.
