Ceramic table by Tue Poulsen for Haslev furniture-makers (makers-mark), Denmark circa 1970

A very well balanced and harmonic large coffee table from ceramic tiles and beech-wood in good to very good condition. The heavy table top is filled with tiles from different sizes and colors. These are mainly in the range from blue, red and yellow tones. It sits on a floating wooden frame. Handcrafted and in very good condition with hardly any signs of use and time. Two dents are present which are hardly noticeable, otherwise no major damages. The piece will be crated for transport. Tue Poulsen is a renowned Danish ceramist, designer, and visual artist, best known for his brutalist studio pottery from the 1960s and 1970s. His work is often characterized by a rustic, brutalist aesthetic and is considered collectible Danish Mid-Century Modern design. He explores various styles, from large stoneware sculptures to delicate porcelain. Dimensions are: 54" x 34.25" x 21.25".
