De Puydt Brutalist Heavy Rope Dining Chairs
De Puydt, Belgium, 1950–1959
Set of Six (6) De Puydt Brutalist Heavy Oak Dining Chairs, 1950
Pair of armchairs, beech, rope hemp, France, 1950s. Gorgeous set of 6 mid-century dining chairs in oak and rope hemp upholstery. The chairs are made from solid oak and woven hemp rope seats. These chairs have heavy brutalist oak frames with a deep texture and are in original condition with a handsome patina and visible wear. There is no rush breakage on the seats, overall condition is very good, with wear consistent with their age and use. The naturalistic approach to design and style and the therefor displayed use of material is typical for rustic 1950's furniture-makers. The chairs are in very good vintage condition, the frames are all clean, sturdy and sound, with only some minor surface wear here and there commensurate with age. Dimensions: 20.47" x 18.5" x 39" - seat height: 18.5”
