Brutalist Artisan Oak Cabinet or Sideboard With Carved Details, 1940 France
France, 1940–1949
Brutalist, medieval revival french sideboard from carved oak, circa 1940.
Perfectly sized 39"x 32" mid-century modern sideboard or small cabinet with its original lock and key, carved surface and wrought iron details.
It's in very good vintage condition showing all the typical elements of a brutalist design movement.
The front holds the characteristics, featuring a rhythmic pattern of carved squares executed in a rough manner.
The carved surfaces on the top and the sides complete that approach. It's beautifully done by hand and very tactile.
It's got one original shelf on the inside, also in very good condition. The general condition is very good, no major damages, the key and lock function smoothly.
Dimensions are 32.3" (Height) x 39.37" (W) x 16.53" (D)
