Poul Kjearholm PK9 for E. Kold Christensen, 1960
5 Dining chairs, original Leather
A set of five early original 1960's PK9 chairs for E. Kold Christensen (marked), produced circa 1960-1970- in very good condition.
Amazing set of early sculptural classic chairs from Poul Kjearholm in great condition, makers mark in the base as pictured. They come in an original beautiful and smooth cognac brown leather. The PK9 also known as the “Tulip chair”, is made up of 3 pieces of brushed stainless steel that join to form the legs and support the leather seat. It’s unique shape was inspired by a sand imprint of his wife’s behind on the beach. During the design process, Hanne Kjearholm sat in boxes of clay to find the most optimal and comfortable solution. Overall it's a design with elegance and understatement, plus very comfortable to sit in. These chairs will last a lifetime. In very good vintage condition with hardly any wear, some scratches, no damages. Each chair is labelled ( see picture)
