Illuminating Fontana Arte mirror model 1657 by Max Ingrand, Italy, mid century This piece will be on sale until Christmas. $38700k instead of $58000 Iconic vintage 25x21" mirror by the glass artist Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, deriving from a Villa in Palermo. As every piece by Max Ingrand the delicacy of formal composition and idea of glass and light are stressed radically. The mirror consists of an individually chipped, chiseled edge thick glass frame with radiant mirror engraved decor that also guides the light from the center to the so illuminated chiseled edges casting a mesmerizing corona around the mirror itself. The mirror engulfs its surrounding in an intricate play of light and shadow. A beautiful decorative piece in very good original condition by one of the most inventive masters of light/design. This model has been featured in many books and is illustrating the monograph dedicated to Max Ingrand by Pierre-Emmanuel and Martin Vivier. Measurements: 25.2"(height) x 20.8" x 3.5" Provenance: Private collection, Palermo, Italy. Literature: "Max Ingrand, du verre a` la lumiere", P.-E.
