Rare 31.5" chandelier, original Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, Milano circa 1960, Mod.1758

Early vintage original chandelier that we can customize in height. It's a large and elegant fixture with the typical piercing motive that Max Ingrand used for many of his light-designs. It's a very delicate piece with outstanding glass work. We have left the brass parts untouched, gently cleaned to preserve the original surface. The cables have been replaced, rewired. (Photos of the original wires were archived). Eight e14 bulbs are illuminating a sandblasted large 31.5" glass disc-diffuser, so the bulbs are not visible from underneath the light. It's in very good condition considering an age of 65 years. The glass shows no chips or cracks. Provenance: the lamp derives from an estate in Milan. Dimensions are 31“ (diameter) x 55“ (height )

Max Ingrand, director at Fontana arte between 1954-1964 was the man of the impossible details in glass design. He followed on Pietro Chiesa; both were responsible for some of the most iconic furniture for Fontana Arte, Milan.
