Maitland Smith Original Large Lacquer Table Surreal Chinoiserie Style, 1970
Very rare surrealistic neo-barock coffee table by Maitland Smith. This table has been handmade and hand-painted with great attention to detail. The brick-like grid shows different rectangles with different shades and depth of colors executed in many layers of lacquer. Excellent work that took days and weeks to finish. It's made from solid beech wood. The table was inspected and restored partially (lacquered finish). It's in very good condition with minimal wear due to normal use.
