Carl Auböck II Tree Trunk Table No. 24, 1955

Beautifully preserved Carl Auböck table no.24, midcentury Marked Auböck, Made in Austria and number 24 on each leg
Very rare original mid-size tree trunk table that we had inspected and restored at Werkstätte Carl Auböck in Vienna. It was made in the 1950's and bears the number '24' which makes it an early example of exportable tables, that were specifically made for design-lovers abroad.
This export version has got removable brass feet and it's noteworthy that the brass-feet are solid which appears to be quite rare in itself. As usual the table top was hand-picked for its sculptural qualities. This tree piece shows a dynamic curve and lively black underside.
The table was inspected and restored at Werkstätte Carl Auböck (3rd) in Vienna. The original shellac technique was used as well as the original blackening technique for the underside of the table. Dimensions are: 36.22" x 19.5" x 17.1" (height).
