Max Ingrand Fontana Arte chandelier or semi flush mount Mod. 2270, Italy, 1960.
Beautiful and rare 25″ ceiling fixture made from 12 artistically treated glass tiles. They are from very thick polished cut edged glass, partially with clear and satin finish and a middle part with the trademark chipped glass technique. The hexagonal glass disc covering the structure from below is sandblasted and shows no cracks. Two of the drill holes have chips which does not show or harms the functionality.
The structure is made from lacquered brass and carries12 bulbs (e26/27, 40 W max).
It can be used as a high hanging chandelier due to the showing bulbs or as a low hanging semi-flush mount with a shorter stems.
We can equip the piece with appropriate stems at our workshop. We left the original cables as is and it is fully functional. However, we can rewire the piece after purchase.
Dimensions are 24.8″ in diameter/ 22.4″ overall height/ height chandelier body only 4.72″
(Max Ingrand who was the artistic director at Fontana arte between 1954-1964 was the man of the impossible details in glass design.)
