Bubble Mirror Large Smoked Mirror with Convex Bubble Dots
Italy, 1960–1969
Bubble Mirror. Large smoked rectangular mirror within a mirror, Italy, circa 1960.
Smoked mirror frame with a round embedded mirror. The rectangular frames' appearance is of convex circular bubbles embedded within the mirrored glass.
It's an unusual 3D effect technique that was frequently employed in the designs of Max Ingrand, Piero Fornasetti and Luigi Brusotti.
The mirror is in very good restored condition, dimensions are 37.4 x 25.2 inches. The original round mirror glass has been replaced and we added a backplate from wood (blackened).
It is in very good vintage condition and can be hung both ways vertically and horizontally.
