Set of two original 1980’s cab 413 captains chairs by Mario Bellini for Cassina.
We have a set of twelve (12) cab 412 in black available also, please inquire or check our other listings.
A set of 2 Italian design icons in black saddle leather, the CAB 413 chair by Mario Bellini for Cassina is up for sale.
When first produced in 1977, the CAB was the first chair to feature a free-standing leather structure, inspired by how human skin fits over our skeleton.
The leather upholstery is constructed from sixteen pieces of saddle leather, which are individually die-cut and sewn together. The leather is then zippered over the tubular steel frame and the polyurethane foam padded seat.
The chair is part of the permanent collection at the New York MoMA.
It is perfect for the dining room, office, or as a side chair. Overall it’s a design with elegance and understatement, very comfortable to sit in, while still lightweight.
In good vintage condition with wear. Some more some less.
Each chair is labelled at the bottom, Cassina.
