G.C.M.E, Italy, 1960–1969
G.C.M.E
Rare suspension lamp by G.C.M.E Italy, circa 1960.
Wonderful and large 35“ x 20“ example of a radical design chandelier G.C.M.E suspension light.
So many things come to mind seeing this iconic piece, Memphis design for one, Angelo Lelii can be found in details, also the dirty realism debate of the 1980‘s.
But this bold beauty dates back to the 1960’s and is in such good condition, the piercing opaline glass tube shows no chips, the lacquered mesh only littly rub-offs.
It’s a sculpture yet a beautiful light with great illuminating qualities. It's in good to very good condition, some little wear to the original lacquer, which we left as is.
The wiring has been checked and will work in the US/EU . One bulb with 100W max e27 (EU) or e26 (US). Leds are possible, dimming also.
It casts a beautiful light, perfect for a medium to larger table ot hallway.
